At Amara NZero we are determined to lead the way towards a more sustainable future by putting our corporate value of Respect for the Environment into practice.
For this reason, we have aligned our commitments to reduce GHG emissions with the requirements established in the European Green Pact to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030 and to meet the targets set in the 2015 Paris Agreement, for which, in 2021, we started in Spain the verification and certification plan of greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions in Amara NZero Group.
Since then, we are extending to the entire Amara NZero Group the verification and certification of the carbon footprint in all Group companies.
We seek to understand our environmental impact to set decarbonization science-based targets (SBTi) and take specific actions to reduce our carbon footprint thereby creating a positive impact on the planet.
To ensure that commitments are transformed into action, Amara NZero has introduced digitisation solutions to manage Non-Financial Reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards (CSRD, ESRS, GRI), carbon footprint measurement and supply chain management, ensuring the quality of the data provided and meeting its transparency requirements.
The main strategic lines of action focus on the following aspects:
- Optimisation of web-based sales channels that expand the commercial network, avoiding land and space occupation, as well as the consumption of resources.
- Development of training activities aimed at the sustainable consumption of materials and resources, reducing waste generation.
- Substitution of electricity supply contracts with contracts that guarantee a 100% renewable origin.
- Search for efficient electric and/or hybrid mobility solutions for company and delivery vehicles.
- Replacement of traditional lighting with LED technology.
- Environmental volunteering by employees.
